iStarT 2015 – First International iStar Teaching Workshop
The i* framework, facilitating goal-oriented information systems modeling, has received much attention at the CAiSE conference and at other venues. This year the iStarT workshop will focus specifically on topics related to i* and goal-oriented pedagogy. Over the years, researchers and educators around the world have accumulated experience in teaching i* and related languages (e.g., GRL and Tropos), at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to students with a wide variety of backgrounds (e.g., computer science, information management, business analysts), or to practicing professionals. The workshop will provide an opportunity to share and discuss such experiences. Relevant topics include organization of teaching materials, goal-oriented learning objectives, teaching formats and learning styles, individual and team learning, exercises and evaluation methods, tool support, staged or incremental introduction of i* concepts and techniques, differentiation for different audiences, prerequisites, and learning curve. The objective of the workshop is to share knowledge and teaching materials, exchange ideas, stimulate discussion, foster improved i* teaching practices, and facilitate inclusion of i* in educational content.
